I mainly practice within the following areas of law:

FAMILY LAW: Dissolutions of marriage are the most common type of family law case. However, besides a full dissolution case, many individuals need help in this area for on-going custody/visitation modifications and/or modifications of child support. Many cases today involve the Children's Services Division. Restraining orders fall within the area of Family Law. These are available, especially for victims of domestic violence. However, they require legal paperwork, court filings and at least one court appearance. Adoptions are also considered within Family Law.

PERSONAL INJURY: The most common cases in this area involve clients that have been involved in auto accidents or have had slip-and-fall injuries. If you have had a serious accident, please discuss it with an attorney early. This will provide you with information about taking photos of your vehicle, injuries and/or the scene. Also, it is important to seek the appropriate medical treatment. Generally, these type of claims must be filed within two years from the date of the accident, or you may lose your ability to recover for your injuries.

PROBATE LAW: Probate is generally required to transfer title to real and personal property after someone dies with or without a will. However, there are many ways to bypass the Probate process. Trusts are one example. I prepare wills and/or trusts for clients. Conservatorships and Guardianships fall within the area of Probate as well. These are most commonly necessary when someone other than a parent is raising a child or is required to take over the financial/health decisions for an elderly relative.
